The Romero Catholic Academy Update
In summer of 2014 our Governing Body agreed to explore becoming part of a Multi Academy Company under the Academies Act 2010. The schools that are proposed to join us in the Multi Academy Company are:-
Corpus Christi Catholic Primary
Good Shepherd Catholic Primary
Sacred Heart Catholic Primary
St John Fisher Catholic Primary
St Gregory’s Catholic Primary
SS Peter and Paul Catholic Primary
Cardinal Wiseman Catholic Secondary
The Multi Academy Company will be called The Romero Catholic Academy.
We have now received our official Academy Order from the Department for Education and are now formally starting the conversion process. We aim to convert to an academy on the 1st August 2015.
The next step in the process is to undertake a formal consultation process with parents, carers, the parish, local community and other key stakeholders.
The first point to be considered ought to be "Should our school become an academy?"
The second point to be considered is, as part of the conversion process the land will be leased to the school by Coventry City Council for 125 years.
We wish to consult our parents, carers, the parish, local community and other key stakeholders over the use of the school land. They wish to identify any access or rights of way claims that members of the public know to exist over the current school sites.
It must be made very clear that schools will continue to utilise the land as it has always done i.e. for the provision of education to all the young people who live in the areas served by the schools.
If you have any comments or questions, or wish to register knowledge of any public access or right of way across the schools land please refer to the Romero Catholic Academy website www.romeromac.com or contact Corinne Nemeth – The Romero Project Co-ordinator C/O Sacred Heart School, Brays Lane, Coventry CV2 4DW in writing or e-mail email@example.com by the 8th May 2015.
